Have you flown any of these?
Globally, the average length of a Boeing 777 non-stop flight in April is 3,378 miles (5,436 km), according to the latest OAG data. Not surprisingly, that is greater than the 3,000 miles (4,828 km) considered long-haul. What about the world’s shortest Triple 7 flights in April?
The world’s shortest 777 flights
The five shortest scheduled passenger flights in April are shown in the following table. To qualify, each route must be bookable and counts even if it has just one 777 flight. The need to be bookable is why Air France’s very short Freetown-Conakry leg, part of a triangular routing with Paris CDG, doesn’t feature. If it were bookable, it’d be the world’s joint-second shortest, at 72 miles (116 km).
Flights as part of a wider routing are crucial. Indeed, three are fifth-freedoms, while another stops en route within its own country. The sole exception is Qatar Airways from Doha to Dammam, which simply operates there and back.

A look at Qatar Airways
The 140 miles (225 km) between Doha and Dammam sees a vast array of Qatar Airways aircraft in April: the A320, A350-900, A330-200, A350-1000, 787-8 – and one flight by the 777-300ER.
On April 29th, QR1162 leaves Doha at 18:50 and arrives at 19:50. After 90 minutes on the ground, QR1163 departs at 21:20 and arrives back at 22:20, in time to feed the carrier’s biggest departure bank across Asia-Pacific and Africa. It also feeds its second-biggest bank to Europe, North America, and the broader Middle East.
