Orlando International Airport will cease operations tomorrow, November 9, at 16:00 local time because of the approaching Tropical Storm Nicole.

American Airlines issues a travel alert for 20 airports

American Airlines anticipates that Tropical Storm Nicole will impact airports throughout the Bahamas and Florida. As a preventative measure, the airline has issued a travel alert for 20 different airports. American’s passengers are allowed to rearrange travel plans on the airline’s website or over the phone without paying change fees.

Passengers needing to evacuate at the last minute have been offered last-minute fares at a reduced rate.

As of 18:30 local time today, 38 flights have been delayed in Orlando, just 8% of the total flights at the Florida airport. More flights have been canceled for tomorrow’s schedule in anticipation of the inclement weather.
