Last year, Santiago de Chile (SCL), Miami (MIA), and Lima (LIM) were LATAM Brasil’s top international destinations, receiving the largest number of passengers from Brazil, the company said in a statement. Let’s take a look at the airline’s connectivity abroad.
LATAM’s top three
In total, more than 600,000 passengers flying onboard LATAM Brasil’s flights disembarked last year in Santiago, Miami or Lima. This number corresponds to 35% of all people transported internationally by the company last year, LATAM said in a statement.
The volume of passengers traveling with the company from Brazil to these three destinations was four times higher in 2022 than the previous year. Despite the good news, LATAM Brasil has not yet recovered its international traffic figures compared to 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Aline Mafra, LATAM Brazil’s Director of Sales and Marketing, the three prominent international destinations in 2022 are strategic for the company’s international airline network planning. “No airline connects Brazil with the world like LATAM. We operated nine direct routes from Brazil to Santiago, Miami, and Lima last year, with great connectivity and the best schedules for leisure and business passengers.”
Throughout the year, LATAM launched two new routes from Florianópolis and Curitiba to Santiago de Chile, totaling six weekly flights between both. The airline also strengthened the well-established routes from São Paulo Guarulhos and Rio de Janeiro.
To the United States, LATAM launched the seasonal route between Miami and Fortaleza, with one weekly flight. It also increased flights from São Paulo Guarulhos. Finally, the company launched direct flights to Lima from Rio de Janeiro Galeão International (seven weekly flights) and Porto Alegre (three weekly services) while reinforcing the Peruvian capital’s connection with Guarulhos.
As of January 2023, LATAM offers a total of 113 weekly flights to these three international destinations, according to data from Cirium.

As of January 2023, LATAM Brasil is flying to 21 international airports (not destinations; those are 20. Where’s the difference? LATAM flies to both Buenos Aires international airports, Ezeiza and Jorge Newbery). This year, the company will relaunch the highly anticipated São Paulo-Johannesburg, which was temporarily paused in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. LATAM Brasil will also begin operations between São Paulo and Los Angeles, the first route launched under the scope of the company’s Joint Venture Agreement with Delta Air Lines.
